Fleurieu Peninsula, South Australia
Carrickalinga is a fantastic base to explore the Fleurieu Peninsula from. McLaren Vale, one of South Australia’s premier wine regions, is 30 minutes drive north; Victor Harbor, a great spot for whale watching in Winter and early Spring, is 30 min drive east; wonderful bush-walking is on hand at Deep Creek Conservation Park just 20 min drive south; or, if you’re also planning on visiting Kangaroo Island, the ferry leaves from Cape Jervis at the southern tip of the Fleurieu, 20 minutes away. But don’t feel you need to travel far to enjoy the Fleurieu, a number of wineries, art galleries, fantastic beaches and restaurants can be found within the immediate area of Carrickalinga, Normanville and Yankalilla.
